LONDON, 23 April 2025 – Hivemind Capital Partners and HOFA Gallery today announce their partnership on the Digital Art Awards, a landmark initiative spotlighting innovation across generative systems, AI, immersive media and experimental digital formats. Presented in collaboration with PhillipsX and backed by Hivemind’s newly launched Digital Culture Fund, the awards marks a long-term commitment to shaping the future of digital culture through institutional curation and investment.
The awards ceremony will take place on 15 May 2025 at Phillips London, followed by a public exhibition from 16–22 May 2025, showcasing finalists and a curated selection of their works, all selected by a panel of leading experts in art and innovation. With the generous support of Hivemind and Matt Zhang, the awards will grant a total of $40,000 USDC across the four category winners, each receiving $10,000 USDC towards the creation of a newly commissioned artwork.

At the core of Hivemind’s mission is the belief that digital art is not simply a market—it is an emerging cultural infrastructure with long-term significance. “The Digital Culture Fund was created to support the artists who are defining the canon of digital art and curate a collection that captures the story of the movement as it unfolds.” said Matt Zhang, Founder and Managing Partner of Hivemind.
He adds: “Partnering with HOFA was a natural extension of our mission. Their curatorial eye and track record of championing both pioneering and next-generation digital artists make them the ideal collaborators in building an enduring digital art ecosystem.”
The Digital Culture Fund, which is raising $50 million and has already secured significant early backing, has begun acquiring works by seminal digital artists including Refik Anadol, XCOPY, Tyler Hobbs and CryptoPunks. Hivemind pairs cultural conviction with long term vision, aiming to collect the iconic works of today while nurturing emerging practices and ensuring the future of digital art remains vibrant and resilient.

“It’s a full-circle approach to ecosystem building.” Zhang adds. “Beyond just collectors, we see ourselves as long-term participants in the cultural and economic architecture of digital art.”
Developed to reflect that same ethos, the new Digital Art Awards offer both recognition and meaningful financial support to artists pushing the boundaries of digital creativity. Winning artists will also join HOFA’s SPACES programme, an international curatorial initiative developed with PhillipsX, through which their newly commissioned works will be presented via exhibitions, art fairs and institutional collaborations.
With categories in Still Image, Moving Image, Innovation and Experiential, the new awards have already attracted submissions from leading names including Sougwen Chung, Sarah Meyohas, Emily Xie, Operator and Kevin Abosch.
Elio D’Anna, Co-Founder of HOFA and the Digital Art Awards, says: “Through our partnership with Hivemind and Phillips, we are not only spotlighting the best in digital creativity—we’re helping to shape the structural foundations of a sustainable, scalable future for digital art.”
Submissions remain open until 30 April 2025 via DigitalArtAwards.io. Finalists will be announced in early May 2025.
